March Madness

This is going to be the mother of all posts. We are taking what easily could have been three posts and combining all of it into one.

Our adventures started at the first of March. March 6th was my birthday. My wife decided to surprise me with an activity. Little did I know that this activity consisted of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane at 13,000 feet.

After we got ready in our awesome jump suits, we got a little training and before we knew it we were walking to the airplane. After a plane ride to 13,000 feet, the door opened. It is a feeling that we both cant even describe. All I can say is that skydiving should be on everyone's bucket list. We intentionally and successfully jumped from an aircraft while in flight thousands of feet above the Earth thus joining the elite group of humans who actually do the things they have always wanted to do instead of just talking about them while sitting on the couch watching TV.

To add to our adventures, over spring break we decided to hike Angel's Landing In Zion National Park. If you don't know about this hike, all I can say is it isn't for those who are terrified of heights. The ridge below is the ridge you hike to get to the top.

The beauty of success!

After taking our lives in our hands, we decided to take a easy hike to the Grotto. It was a chain of beautiful waterfalls. It was a nice relaxing hike compared to Angel's Landing. All I have to say is that Angels need to rethink their landing.

Ms. Frances Susan Williams

To top off the month of March, we had the opportunity to meet France Susan Williams.

Rich, Julie and the girls were back in Utah for a week. We were able to go up to Logan for France's baby blessing. It was nice to see them all. I couldn't believe how cute France is and how much little Ruby has grown!

Needless to say, March has been an awesome month!

Happy Birthday Mom!

There are a few days throughout the year that have some bitter sweet moments connected to them. A year and a half ago March 1st became one of these days. It is a remarkable day because one of the most charismatic women I know was born. She is the true meaning of a "woman". She also served her purpose as the perfect definitions for a loving mother, wife, friend, sister, and teacher. The day in my mind now has a shadow cast long and dark over it. The bitter side is that I cant share this big day with one of the most influential women in my life. I truly miss her, but I celebrate her life today. Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday Dad!

My dad came down for the weekend and Chelsea and I had the opportunity to take my dad out for his birthday.

We started our morning off by hitting up Zion National Park. The weather was beautiful and the scenery was even more spectacular.

Being the slower season in the park, we were able to take our own car up in and take our time. We stopped at every little pull off and enjoyed the views. We also did a few little hikes.
After the park we headed to St. George and shopped a little (Chelsea's Idea).
We then went to eat at Texas Road House (Dad's and Micah's Idea).

We ended our day with a some Olympics and birthday cake. It was an awesome day. We are glad we could be with my dad throughout his big day! Once again...Happy Birthday Dad! We Love You!

Halloween Fun!

The night before halloween Micah and I carved pumpkins!
Micah says his pumkin was better than mine.

I dressed up for the hospital as a go go hippie so Micah dressed up as a hippie to. Good thing he has long hair and a scruffly beard to make the outfit complete.

We decided to go bowling with Lacee and Deven! Micah was on fire. He bowled 5 STRIKES in a row! Luckily enough I came back and won the second game. Looks like we tied tonight! We had a way fun Halloween!

Life

We officially are the worse bloggers ever! Between school, work, school, work, and the occasional date nights…we find ourselves wondering why there isn’t more time in a day. Currently we are both stuck between books and homework. I recently went through a quarter life crisis after completing my Associates Degree. So I decided instead of being done in less than two years with on Communications Degree…I thought I would shoot myself in the foot and tack on another six possible years of school. I recently changed my major to Biology; I figure I can hack it because it is in my blood. That will roughly take me two years. After I get my degree I am currently looking into Optometry Schools. That is another four years. That makes me roughly 30 years-old when I finally finish. Chelsea on the other hand has an awesome career at her finger tips. She will be graduating in 7 months as a Radiologist Technician. She is fighting the thought of specializing, or working for awhile. The moral of the story is that we are alive! We are trying to make something of ourselves. I just find myself wondering if there is even light in this tunnel. I am grateful to have a wife that is living poof that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I just have to realize that I might be in a long friggin’ tunnel. I guess all I can do is keep on truckin’! That’s what life is about.

The Happiest Place on Earth!

At the end of May, Chelsea and me had the opportunity to road trip it to California with Chelsea's family. Most of our time was spent at the happiest place on earth...Disneyland. We also spent a lot of our time exploring California Adventure.

Some rides we road just so we could say we did them and check them off our list...

...others we were anxious to ride.

I don't know if it is because I am just a kid at heart, or if I am just weird. Most the rides I found still have the classic feeling that I remember from when I was young.

We even got to meet the man himself. He is a lot shorter than I remember.

Of course we didn't go to California without hitting the beach. We enjoyed the day at Newport Beach; where we practically had our own little slice of heaven to ourselves. The weather was perfect for sand volleyball, swimming...even though the water was a little cold, and catching some sun.

All in all the trip was awesome! I found out real quick that you don't have to be a kid to enjoy these kind of things...even though Chelsea would debate that I am a kid trapped in a 6'4'' body. It was nice to be with Chelsea's family and just be away from school and work for a week. Sadly enough, reality set in the Monday when we were back into the swing of things at work.

Finals Finally Finished!

Well, finals week is officially over for both of us! Micah had to do his "after finals dance," which included flapping his arms and dancing around the house. Of course he had to yell "Finals is over!" He was pretty excited. His excitement will last longer than mine because summer semester starts next week for me.
We are looking forward to this weekend and our trip to see Micah's family in Heber. Since we have been married, we haven't been good about taking pictures...so we will see if we can do better to post you on our weekend.
